The people are part of the culture and engaged. Management works with all the teams to be engagged and part of the solution for business and the people. It's a small cruise line with a great product and big heart. Windstar is backed by Xanterra Hospitality Group so it has resources to expand and flurish. It's hard work but it's fun. Pros The culture is very positive. Cons Small teams, hard work but rewarding. One of the worst work environments I have ever encountered. Unprofessional and immature Human Resources members. Executives who are more concerned with getting written up in magazine articles than having integrity and protecting their employees and doing the right thing. Pros Decent benefits and pay Cons Lack of leadership and integrity, HR is unprofessional and hire staff from ships that are not qualified and are entitled. Very toxic workplace, most employees don't interact with each other due to a very cold and unfriendly atmosphere. New employees aren't introduced to the rest of the staff and treated like temps.

These were so much better than just simple wine tastings. We had a blast with the other couples he sat with us. This resulted in so many memorable moments and provided the opportunity to try wines which we normally woul not have. As noted over and over in reviews, Julain and his team just go above and beyond to make guests feel part of a wonderful happy family. Staff members are always attenive, know your name and what drink you like. James and his staff made sure that we had a wonderful trip booked each morining and found us some ideas off the beaten path that were so much fun. I wish that I could name everyone but one person is as wonderful as the next. Thank you to each and every one of you! Our daughters joined us for a week and you would think that this would not be a good fit for two university students on spring break. Well they can't wait until next year. Starting with the captain, everyone made sure that they had a wonderful time. There was a young female officer who showed them the workings of the brige, the band had a daytime rehersal in the closed lounge where they could all jam together, it goes on and on.

A weekly show by the crew is delightful; attired in the traditional costumes of their homelands, they present music and dance highlighting their cultures. You may find occasional movies in the main lounges, which are outfitted with state-of-the-art video and sound equipment. Most passengers prefer socializing, either in the main lounge or an outdoor bar where Cigars Under the Stars attracts not only cigar aficionados but stargazers as well. Welcome-aboard and farewell parties are hosted by the captain, and most passengers attend those as well as the nightly informational sessions regarding ports of call and activities that are presented by the staff during predinner cocktails. Fitness and Recreation Most of the line's massage and exercise facilities are quite small, as would be expected on ships that carry 212 and fewer passengers; however, Wind Surf 's WindSpa and fitness areas are unexpectedly huge. An array of exercise equipment, free weights, and basic fitness classes are available in the gym and Nautilus room.
The locals were very, very friendly, especially in the Philippines, where it seems everyone sings, dances or plays a musical instrument. ——————————————— Let the fun begin! Windstar Cruises Reviews: Sailing Adventure in the South China Sea On the plane, the plane headed to Singapore. Day 1 Saturday, January 6, 2018 Singapore – all aboard! On the dock with a send off by these lovely ladies. Then, on to the bridge, making sure the captain knows where we're going. The captain looked, spoke and behaved just like a famous British actor. He should have been… a delight. It's 5 PM when we departed Singapore for Malaysia and Borneo after a couple of nights at the J. W. Marriott in Singapore's city center. Surprises: Even more luxury stores than our prior visit 3 years ago. Our old haunts for spicy Satay cuisine are gone, replaced by high rise offices or apartment complexes. TIP: Know your ship's location: Singapore has two cruise ship terminals, one at the new Marina Bay facility plus the original port at Harbor Front Center, both minutes from city center.
