Noosa Foreshore Accommodation
Leaving my Mum pretty upset. I for Christmas decided to book us both a holiday to Prague since she really wanted to do and we need some mother daughter time since this issue us put a big strain on our relationship. She has got annoyed since she thinks I only did it to be petty, her husband is angry and it's all blown up in my face a bit. So AITA for buying my mother a holiday when I kind of deep down knew it would make him annoyed? Short version - my mothers husband used their joint holiday savings to take his daughter on holiday instead of going on a trip with my mum, aita for booking a holiday for me and my mum to make up for it, knowing it would piss him off?

It's fairly safe to say that the Waterford Greenway has transformed this corner of the south-east. Once depressed towns such as Kilmacthomas (our point of embarkation today from the incredible converted famine workhouses there) are now getting a vital injection of revenue from this much-subscribed outdoor excursion, as are age-old local businesses such as O'Mahony's country pub in Durrow that don't know themselves. Families and daytrippers from across the country are flocking here to drink up the quiet simplicity of the route, either on two wheels or two feet. Which brings us in more ways than one to Dungarvan itself, a cradle awaiting you with arms open and larder overflowing. The end point of the Greenway comes to a halt right on the mudflats by the Park Hotel, which is really very considerate of them. A wedding is in full swing when we arrive, and tempted as we are to crash it, we're not sure combats and fleeces would allow us to blend in. From pedal power to the soles of our feet hitting terra firma.

Until the end of the 19th Century Lochranza was one of the main herring fishing centres of the West coast with as many as four hundred men making their living from that, and the bay was often crammed with as many as three hundred fishing boats. The boats were small with a crew of four or five and, as you can imagine, the life was hard and many were lost at sea. The herring fishing brought prosperity to the village and when the herring disappeared, and why they did is still a mystery, the men had to find other work., which they did, turning to trade, industry and of course, the sea. At one time there were more Master Mariners belonging to Lochranza than to any other village on the West coast of Scotland. Today the bay provides moorings for a relatively small number of pleasure craft and the ferry between Lochranza and Claonaig goes quietly back and forth in the summer, causing a small stir in comparison with the bustling day of the Clyde steamers when they called in at the pier to be met by horse drawn carts and later by the buses.

We had a really wonderful visited Fakenham and Thursford loved our boathouse room. nothing A quirky, comfortable oasis of... Its a renovated windmill, it's a cool place to stay. The service was exceptional, the room was superb. The room did need warming but with huge thick walls of the building, it stayed warm The breakfast is one of the, if not the best, I have eaten for many, many years. Mostly local produce and so nicely cooked and presented it would be churlish to find fault. And you eat it in a windmill. The beach is nearby and the walk on the path that wanders through the reeeds and marshland is stunning.
