There is one of those fantastic supermarkets called Coop near the Falls so stock up on your picnic supplies before you head off and make sure not to come back 'til dusk because Switzerland nature is just too darn beautiful. Beware that although Switzerland is known for its English-speaking capabilities, Schaffhausen is a small city and English is not as prevalent. It is also not very popular with backpackers, so if you are looking for Schaffhausen hostels, you have two options -- the two public hostels that are part of the HI hostelling network. Besides the hostels, there are lots of pricey hotels. The Schaffhausen is easily connected to other parts of Switzerland via train, so have your fill and be on your merry way. Regions: Silver Trail Communities: Keno City Themes: Activities Categories: Heritage & Culture, Museums & Cultural Centres Keno is a golden getaway that silver built Located on the Silver Trail, quirky Keno is worth more than a day trip. The Yukon may be known for its gold, but Keno is the city that silver built. After a brief gold rush in the early 1900s, several silver-lead-zinc deposits were discovered in the area. This was the finding that led to the construction of three hotels, a liquor store and a post office. These still stand today, alongside a mining museum that details the history of this tiny town, located at the end of the Yukon's Silver Trail. Reader's Digest has called it "the weirdest place in the Yukon" and a New York Times article concurred, with a headline that said Keno "mines its weirdness. " Here, you'll find about two dozen full-time residents, a Looney Tunes-style feud between the owners of two bars that sit on opposite sides of Duncan Creek Road, and a nearby ghost town.
Europe hosts a variety of festivals throughout the year. Each celebration offers a different environment and celebrates all kinds of things, some can be quite bizarre, but that's what festivals are for! Below we explore some of the most unusual festivals held in Europe. Air Guitar Championship Festival The air guitar festival occurs every year in August, where people all over the world come together and compete with invisible instruments. The festival is held in Finland, and the competition has been a tradition that's been going on since 1996. Golden Retriever Festivals Tomich is a small town in Scotland known as the birthplace of golden retrievers. It's the perfect festival for dog lovers or for anyone who's got a thing for golden retrievers. It occurs every year in June, and many owners who own a breed gather together to celebrate their appreciation for the golden retrievers. The celebration consists of many activities including dog contest, dinner dance, mini-games and many more. La Tomatina La Tomatina is the biggest food fight celebration in the world.
Iconic races such as the Grand National Hurdle and the Adelaide Grand National were run on the track and won by South Australia's leading cross-country jockey Jack McGowan of Brooklyn Park [5] in the late 1800s. Following the rejection of a proposal to upgrade horse and motor racing facilities in early 2008, the SAJC vacated the premises, moving their home course to Morphettville Racecourse. The 1950s-era SAJC grandstand was demolished, as was a large brick wall adjacent Fullarton Road and other utility buildings. The heritage-listed 1880s-era grandstand will be refurbished as part of a $16 million upgrade of the park's facilities. [6] The park remains one of the venues for the Adelaide International Horse Trials. Part of the Adelaide Street Circuit was built in the northern portion of the park. Temporary grandstands and other facilities were erected whenever motor racing events were hosted there. The circuit hosted the Adelaide 500 from 1999 until 2020; its cancellation for 2021 was announced due to the coronavirus pandemic, and declining attendance.
RNLI Mudeford would like to thank both Hoburne Park and Christchurch Harbour Association for their very kind donations. 93% of the RNLI's total income comes fr... om donations and we rely on them to keep the boat and station running. Last year was not easy for Hoburne Park, with many planned bookings and activities cancelled due to COVID-19 they still collected £1, 467 from their homeowners and holiday maker community. Christchurch Harbour Association, play a really important role for Mudeford Quay. They fund putting out the buoys to mark the channel and have kindly donated £1000 to us. This money is greatly appreciated and put towards essential maintenance, such as the refit of our trusty B class Atlantic 85 Lifeboat - Mudeford Servant. She has currently been stripped down and is going through a very deep clean - take a look at some of the photos. We are still fully operational in her absence with the replacement Lifeboat Ted Dawber
